Wiedereröffnung der „Galerie Ohne Namen“ (2018-2021) als „Projects154“ (2023…)

Im gemeinsamen Bestreben, Kunst in München zu fördern und einen Ort für künstlerische Aktivitäten zu schaffen, hat sich das Netzwerk der Ateliers um Empfangshalle, in den letzten Jahren auf etwa 100 Künstlerinnen und Künstler erweitert. Um diesem engagierten Bestreben und dem lebendigen Schaffen dieser international vernetzten Künstlerszene Raum zu bieten, wurde im Juli 2018 der Projektraum „Galerie von Empfangshalle“ ins Leben gerufen. Diese Produzentengalerie ermöglichte nicht nur jungen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus München, ihre Arbeiten erstmalig in Einzelausstellungen zu präsentieren, sondern fungierte auch als Ausgangspunkt für neue Kooperationen und gemeinsame Projekte. Dank der besonderen Galeriearchitektur mit einem großen Schaufenster in der belebten Theresienstraße, findet kontinuierlich eine inhaltliche und formale Integration des öffentlichen Raums statt.

Im Jahr 2019 wurde zum Kunstarealfests in der Galerie die Aktion und Ausstellung „ALLES MUSS REIN“ veranstaltet. Dabei trugen über 100 Münchner Künstlerinnen und Künstler ihre Werke in einem performativen Umzug durch das Kunstareal und stellten sie auf einer Fläche von 16 Quadratmetern in der Galerie aus.

Anfang 2020 mussten die Galerieräumlichkeiten aufgrund der COVID-19-Pandemie aufgegeben werden. Nach der „ART FROM APART“ Residency im Schaufenster der Galerie von Janina Totzauer und Janna Jirkova fand im November 2020 die Aktion „ALLES MUSS RAUS“ statt. Die Produzentengalerie und ihr Programm, sowie die Künstlerschaft, zogen dabei performativ aus den festen Ausstellungsräumlichkeiten in den öffentlichen Raum.

Im Jahr 2023 gelang es, die Räume in der Theresienstraße 154 anlässlich der Eröffnung eines neuen Atelierhauses von Empfangshalle in der Gabelsbergerstraße 83-85 wieder anzumieten. Mit der Eröffnungsausstellung „Zurück nach Vorn“ wurden dreizehn Mieterinnen und Mieter der Gabelsbergerstraße in der ehemaligen “Galerie von Empfangshalle” (jetzt Projects154) vorgestellt.

Seit der Gründung der Produzentengalerie fanden insgesamt 30 Ausstellungen und Aktionen statt. Das Programm wird von Maria Justus als „Curator in Residence“ sowie von Gastkuratorinnen und Gastkuratoren aus München gestaltet.

Reopening of the „No-name gallery“(2018-2021) as „Projects154“ (2023…)

In a joint effort to promote art in Munich and establish a space for artistic activities, the network of studios around Empfangshalle has expanded to include approximately 100 artists in recent years. To provide space for this dedicated endeavor and the vibrant work of this internationally connected artists‘ scene, the project space „Galerie von Empfangshalle“ was established in July 2018. This producer gallery not only allowed young artists from Munich to showcase their works in solo exhibitions for the first time but also served as a starting point for new collaborations and joint projects. Thanks to the gallery’s distinctive architecture featuring a large storefront on the bustling Theresienstraße, there is a continuous integration of public space in terms of content and form.

In 2019, during the Kunstarealfest, the action and exhibition „EVERYTHING MUST GO“ were organized in the gallery. Over 100 Munich artists carried their works in a performative procession through the art district and displayed them in the gallery on a 16-square-meter area.

At the beginning of 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the gallery spaces had to be vacated. After the „ART FROM APART“ residency in the gallery’s storefront by Janina Totzauer and Janna Jirkova, the „EVERYTHING MUST GO“ action took place in November 2020. The producer gallery, its program, and the artists relocated performatively from the fixed exhibition spaces to the public sphere.

In 2023, it was possible to re-rent the spaces at Theresienstraße 154 on the occasion of the opening of a new studio house by Empfangshalle at Gabelsbergerstraße 83-85. With the opening exhibition „Back to the Future,“ thirteen tenants of Gabelsbergerstraße were introduced in the former „Galerie von Empfangshalle“ (now Projects154).

Since the founding of the producer gallery, a total of 30 exhibitions and actions have taken place. The program is curated by Maria Justus as the „Curator in Residence“ and guest curators from Munich.
